Crime Scene Investigation Training
At the Zimbabwe Institute of Wildlife Conservation (ZIWC), students gain practical experience in crime scene investigation through hands-on training that prepares them for real-world law enforcement and wildlife protection duties. During these sessions, students learn how to secure crime scenes, collect and preserve evidence, document findings, and apply investigative techniques essential in combating wildlife crime and other offences. This practical exposure equips students with the skills, discipline, and professionalism needed to conduct effective investigations and contribute to the protection of natural resources and the administration of justice.
CITES MIKE TRAINING
Through CITES MIKE training, students at the Zimbabwe Institute of Wildlife Conservation (ZIWC) gain valuable knowledge and practical skills in wildlife monitoring and conservation. The training introduces students to the Monitoring the Illegal Killing of Elephants (MIKE) programme, emphasizing the importance of data collection, field monitoring, and reporting in the fight against wildlife crime. By participating in these sessions, students develop an understanding of conservation policies, wildlife protection strategies, and the role of accurate data in supporting sustainable management and informed decision-making within protected areas.
